This weekend, Robert and I ran our second half marathon in Orange
County. Now, I had every intention of training for the half marathon. But, of
course, the training never happened. Sunday
morning, 3:30 a.m., rolled around – it was time to prod the heifers for 13.1
miles.
It turned out to be an awesome event. How wonderful is it to see
thousands of people waking up before the sun rises to go for a run? There were
people of all ages, all sizes, running for various causes, first-timers and
veteran runners…
And, after huffing and puffing, one pee break, a few rounds of “Call Me
Maybe”…I finished!! Robert was way ahead of me. He finished in 2 hours and 11
minutes! (Proud fiancée moment!)
And after the race, honey-child – let me tell
you – I was hungry! In the middle of panting and wheezing, I managed to tell Rob: “In-n-Out.
Cheeseburger. Animal style fries.” And, being such a sweet fiancé
, that is where we limped off to eat!
