Did Easter Come Early?

Right before my Bachelorette Party (woo woo - Vegas!), we had carpet installed in our home – and what an experience! The paint color in our home is Benjamin Moore Alaskan Skies – a bit tan, a bit gray. So, I thought a gray-colored carpet would look great with the dark wood in our home. Um, no.

Early in the morning, the installer came to the house to install the carpet. I worked downstairs to keep out of his way. Around 4 p.m., he tells me that he is done for the day.  As I walked up the stairs, what laid before me was an Easter purple rug stapled to my floor. To say that I had a meltdown is an understatement (Note: for proof, please talk to Rob, et al.). I don’t care what y’all say – the carpet was PURPLE, not gray! And with our paint color in the home and in the bathroom (Benjamin Moore Gray Owl), it looked like Easter came early to the Coleman residence! Don’t get me wrong – it was good carpet. But it did not fit the home at all. After a weekend in Vegas (and talking repeatedly about the carpet!), I realized that it needed to be changed. Mr. C rushed me to Home Depot and held me as I bawled in the carpet aisle trying to find a new carpet (because this was it!). One week later, the carpet was changed and is now PERFECT!! Check it out!

Hello, Again!

Hello Strangers!! It’s been a bit too long! Mr. C and I have been busy getting hitched, prancing around beautiful New England on our honeymoon, and settling into our new home! And as we inch closer and closer to the holidays, we are getting busier and busier! But fingers crossed – I hope to keep updating our little blog!

Casa de Coleman is slowly transforming into our dream home. I’ve slowly realized that I’m totally adverse to any sort of color – gray and white are colors, right?! Of course! ;) The contractor has completed the projects inside the house. But we still have little details to complete – knobs, light fixtures, mirrors, outlets – and some big details to finish – change sliding doors, entrance door, and 2 frosted windows (gross!).  But slowly we (i.e., Robert) have been adding little additions! We now have a towel rack– and it’s perfectly leveled! Thanks, Hubs! And, of course, we are still on the hunt for furniture pieces.

But the outside is our next phase – right after the holidays! It looks like we live in Pahrump, Nevada! Come on over and go dune bugging in our desert landscape! I may have a few weeds that give off a green landscape (Does that count as a garden?).

I’ve snapped a few pictures – but much more to come of our fabulous new rug, bedroom, and master bathroom! 

Our sweet little thanksgiving table! Our little nook needs much more decor! I'm thinking pillows, curtains, and white slip cover accent chairs! My favorite part of the day is coming home and having dinner with Rob at this table - so relaxing (and delicious)!

Still need to add knobs - What do you think? Black or Silver? I love those cup-knobs. Adorable!

Love our new blankets! Perfect for cuddling and watching TV!! Our household is on a Breaking Bad binge! And check out our new couches! The picture is a bit dark and not quite true to color. A fuller version of the living room will be comin' soon!

Had to have a little monogrammed number! I still need to add an accent pillow to this chair as well. There is now a gorgeous rug in this area too. (Please ignore the horrid entrance doors! Scary!)

You Are Cordially Invited...

Invitations are out the door! Another "CHECK" on our to-do list! 

I couldn't have made these adorable invitations without the help of my gorgeous Maid of Honor Ms. Rossi, my hot Mama, and the sealing skills of Mr. Fiance.  I had so much fun putting these invitations together.  Each invitation is unique! 

It is so exciting to be one step closer to our wedding date!

Phase 1: Destroy!

I remember that first night in our brand new home - eating pizza on the floor and watching Singin' In The Rain on air mattresses. It is one of my favorite moments with Mr. Fiance! But since then - the only thing we have done to our sweet house is tear out every single thing in sight! I thought it was time to dedicate a blog to DEMOLITION!

After two weeks of acting like a crazy couple (and with the help of some amazing family), we tore it all out!

But the real demolition began when our General Contractor started our renovation.

I can't wait for that moment when it comes together - I may just park a bus on my street and yell "MOVE THAT BUS!" (like that one TV show!) to reveal the final product...Robert, add bus driver to your resume!

Here Comes The Bride…

This past weekend, Rob and I spent an amazing three days at Yosemite doing last minute wedding planning.  It’s so crazy to think that five years ago we met at law school and are now finalizing wedding details.  Little did I know that the guy sitting next to me in Contracts would be my husband.

Yosemite couldn’t have offered a more perfect weekend to get away from the hustle and bustle of work and of our home renovation. 

The next time we visit this adorable red church, we will be saying "I Do!"

Girlfriends – bring the tissues! Robert – you promised me one tear! I better see it!
